Photo booth setup by venue type
Most Charlotte wedding venues fall into one of five types, and each type changes the photo booth setup: where the booth goes, how we load in and which booth fits the room.
Hotel ballrooms
The Ritz-Carlton, JW Marriott, Grand Bohemian, Kimpton Tryon Park, Le Méridien, The Westin, Marriott City Center, Marriott SouthPark and The Ballantyne. Hotels usually have set rules for vendor load-in, such as a loading dock, a service elevator and a time window. Ask your catering manager when vendors can load in, because we arrive about an hour before the booth starts. The best spot is near the dance floor but out of the path to the bar, with an outlet within reach. Best fit: the Print Booth or the Glam Booth.

Country clubs
Quail Hollow Club, Carmel Country Club, Providence Country Club and Ballantyne Country Club. Clubs often hold cocktail hour and the reception in different rooms. Decide where the booth lives before the day, since moving it mid-event eats into run time. Ask about vendor parking and which entrance vendors use. Best fit: the Glam Booth for a black-tie crowd, the Print Booth for a dance-floor crowd.
Estates, barns and historic homes
The VanLandingham Estate, The Brawley Estate and Founders Dairy Barn. Check where the closest outlet is and whether the floor is level. For an outdoor or tented reception, plan a covered spot in case of rain. A flower wall ($299) or boxwood backdrop ($199) suits these spaces.

Rooftops
Hestia Rooftop. Wind and weather drive the plan, so ask about an indoor backup space and elevator access for equipment. Where floor space is tight, the Digital Photo Booth or the roaming photo booth works well.
Event spaces and restaurants
The Goodyear House, PINE, The Revelry North End, The Casey, The Ruth, The Collector’s Room, The Yorkmont and Founders Hall. Smaller rooms fill up fast. Agree on the booth’s 10 by 10 feet of floor space with the venue ahead of time, and check whether the room flips between ceremony and reception.
When to run the photo booth on the wedding day
Most couples start the booth when dinner wraps and the dance floor opens. Guests are relaxed by then, and groups form on their own. Three hours usually covers the end of dinner through the last dance.
If cocktail hour is in a separate room, pick one spot for the booth and keep it there. Moving it mid-event takes time out of your run time.
Give your planner and DJ the start time so they can announce it. Then send us the venue floor plan with the booth spot and the nearest outlet marked, plus the venue contact for load-in.

What to ask your venue before booking a photo booth
- Do you have vendor load-in rules or a time window?
- Where can the booth go, and is there an outlet within reach?
- Do vendors need proof of insurance? (We’re insured.)
- Is there a weather backup for outdoor spaces?
- What time do vendors need to be packed up and out?
